Tons of protesters await Obama's motorcade in Bakersfield, disappointed with a no show

Obama takes different route to Keene, Calif.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Protesters were staked out on both sides of Airport Drive in Bakersfield to express their feelings towards different topics and President Obama on Monday morning.

Their signs ranged from a variety of topics such as environmental issues, education, and economic problems.

The hundreds of protesters that showed up said they were let down when President Obama took a different route than expected to Keene, Calif.

Air Force One landed at Meadows Field airport in Bakersfield, where the President traveled from via motorcade to Keene.

President Obama was en route to Keene to announce the Cesar Chavez Monument at the Nuestra  Señora  Reina de la Paz memorial. 

The Cesar E. Chavez National Monument became the 398th  park in the National Park Service system, and the first since the 1700s  to honor a Latino
