BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The TSA decided to replace all highly graphic digital scanners by June because they were starting to be reffered to as Virtual Strip Searches.
This prompted the TSA to move Meadow's Field's less pervasive scanner to LAX.
Officials said body scanners like the one at Meadow's Field are in high demand because the images they produce aren't as detailed as other body scanners that have outraged airline travelers around the world.
Travelers at Meadow's Field said detailed imaging scanners aren't an invasion of privacy, but rather an important safety procedure.
Officials at Meadow's Field said going back to the traditional scanning devices is just as safe for passengers, and they hope to get a replacement scanner by next year.
