A full body scanner at Meadows Field is moving down south, but it might only be temporary.
The TSA decided to replace all highly graphic digital scanners by June because they were starting to be referred to as "virtual strip searches."
This prompted the TSA to move Meadows Field's “less invasive” scanner to LAX.
At an airport with a relatively small amount of travelers compared to other airports in our part of the state, Kern County's Meadows Field is having to give-up its full body scanner to help fill a need down south.
Airport officials hope to have the scanner replaced next year.
