Three families displaced after McFarland home fire, lost everything

MCFARLAND, Calif. - Twenty people were displaced after an electrical fire damaged a home in McFarland.
Fire crews found a single family dwelling, heavily involved in fire with a report of two missing occupants Sunday at about 1:30 a.m., Kern County Fire Department officials said.
The home was on the 200 Block of San Pedro Street in McFarland, officials said.
Victoria Nolasco is a member of one of three families that was inside the home.
"It started in the room where my sister was sleeping and she said that she just heard an explosion," Nolasco said in Spanish, "Then she noticed that there was smoke coming from in between the walls."
Nolasco along with seven other adults and 12 children were able to make it out safely, but lost everything,
Estimated loss was $85,000, officials said.
Eight adults and twelve children were displaced. The family is being assisted by the Red Cross, officials said.
