Two dead, two others injured after gun shots were fired in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Police officers said they found four victims who had been shot after receiving calls of gun fire.

Around 1 a.m. Saturday morning BPD said they arrived in the 3700 block of Columbus Street where they found the four injured victims.

Officers said the victims were taken to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital for treatment.

While at the hospital police reported two of the four victims had died.

The Kern County Sheriff's office identified the victims as 17-year-old Feliberto Ponce and 20-year-old Jose Garcia III.

There is no further information available about the two other injured victims. The investigation is ongoing.
