Two dead at 2nd St. and Chester Ave., officials said

Police looking for dark-colored SUV

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Chester Avenue was closed between 2nd and 3rd Street yesterday after two men were found dead.

On July 17, at around 9:30 a.m., the Bakersfield Police received a call of a possible shooting at First Reliable, a medical marijuana collective on Chester Ave.

When officers were responding, they were told there was a possible victim. It has been confirmed since then that there were two victims in this shooting: 23-year-old Devin Scott Daniels and 55-year-old Tony Conrad Sherman. Both were shot and died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

At this time, the only possible suspects are a man and woman who drove away from the scene in a dark-colored SUV, according to the Bakersfield Police Department's public information officer, Michaela Beard.

The investigation is continuing.
