Two men were arrested after stealing a car and leading deputies on a high speed chase

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two men from Shafer are in jail after leading Kern County Sheriff's Deputies on a high speed chase. 

 

Sheriff’s deputies saw a vehicle speeding along Chester Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday night and tried to pull the driver over, but the driver refused to stop.

The sheriff's office said at one point the driver intentionally rammed a sheriff's patrol vehicle.The deputy was not hurt.

The suspect's vehicle turned out to be stolen.

Arrested later were 19-year-old Nicholas Ybarra and 21-year-old Michael Ybarra.

They’re facing several charges including car jacking.
