BAKERSFIELD - Two people are recovering in the hospital after a car crossed a median on coffee road and slammed into their vehicle.
Bakersfield Police say just before 6 p.m. Saturday, a black Audi was driving north on Coffee, when for some reason they drove over the median and into a white pickup truck and then hit a silver SUV.
The roof of the truck had to be removed in order to get the driver and passenger out. Both were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. Neither the driver of the Audi or the people in the SUV were injured.
Traffic was backed up while firefighters and police officers cleaned up the accident.
The Bakersfield Police Department says drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors.
