BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield police officers are looking for the armed gunmen who opened fire at a Southwest Bakersfield business on New Year's Day, hitting two people.
On January 1, 2014 at approximately 1:00 am, officers were called to Southern Hospitality on Wible Road to reports of a shooting.
A vehicle was seen fleeing the business without its lights on and driving at a high rate of speed. Officers chased the car north on Wible Rd. to Wilson Road, where the driver lost control and slammed into the center divider.
A passenger, Timothy Langston, 28, was found inside the car with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with "non-life threatening" injuries.
A second victim, Darryl Ford, 28, later arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. His injuries are described as "non-life threatening."
Officers found a gun at the rear of the business. There is no information on suspects.
