BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two victims remain in the hospital Friday morning after an early morning shooting outside a Southwest Bakersfield hookah lounge according to Bakersfield Police Department officials.

The Hookah Lounge just off of California avenue is where police say they responded to calls of shots fired at 1:40a.m. and found one man lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers learned that a second victim of a gunshot wound was taken to a local hospital by private means.

This is not the first time this parking lot has been the scene of violence.

Earlier this year in April another man was shot outside the lounge but survived his injuries. During that incidence BPD says the shooting was gang related and two men were arrested.

Police are still searching for suspects in Fridays early morning shooting but say they believe the suspects are either white or Hispanic and were seen speeding away from the scene in a black or white car.
