BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The ukulele has had a recent resurgence in popular music on top of its role in American history.
It was a topic of discussion at the Bakersfield Museum of Art as part of its First Wednesday series.
Kevin Birkbeck led the lecture. Birkbeck founded the largest public school ukulele instruction program in the state at Panama Buena Vista Union School District.
Birkbeck spoke about the instrument's history around the globe and how it is making its way back into American culture.
