BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The bus drivers have voted and their answer is an overwhelming no.
Members of the Teamsters Local 517 voted down the latest contract offer by a vote of 161 to 19 Thursday night.
Union leaders say its a show of solidarity that says the drivers are willing to stay out however long it takes to get what they feel is a fair offer.
GET representatives say they anticipated the offer would fail.
GET was offering a 1 year extension of the contract with a 3 percent raise for drivers.
The union says the strike continues and the drivers will be back on the picket line Friday morning.
