31-year-old stabbed to death at Union Ave, suspect still at large

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff's deputies say a 31-year-old man was stabbed to death Tuesday, at approximately 3:49 p.m. on the 900 block of South Union Avenue, but the suspect's identity is still unknown.

An employee from the Golden West Hotel on Union told 23ABC he saw Ivan Garcia involved in a fight with another man when he was stabbed.

Detectives arrived at the scene shortly after, but Garcia was already dead.

The investigation caused several lane closures on Union for a large part of the day, but all lanes are now open according to the California Highway Patrol.

Deputies say the suspect is still at large and the investigation will continue.
