Man accused of drunken driving accident that caused baby's death pleads not guilty

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The man charged for several counts of felony, including second degree murder for the death of a six-month-old, pleads not guilty in court, officials said.

Police say Alfredo Moreno was under the influence when he rear-ended the family car of tiny Lay Jah Heath, at the intersection of South Union and Berkshire last month.

The accident caused the baby several injuries and she died in a hospital days later.

Moreno pleaded not guilty to all six charges and will return to court later this month.
