BAKERSFIELD, Calif - The Kern County Sheriff's Bomb Squad looked into a suspicious device yesterday at Quincy and Mount Vernon.
The device was not found to be a bomb by officials.
The object was destroyed and evacuation notices were lifted officials said.
The area and surrounding homes were safe.
Officials say they are still looking into what the device was.
