Artists given $5K grant for murals

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Californian Foundation gave Keep Bakersfield Beautiful $5,000 to have artists mentor youth to do 10 murals together on utility boxes downtown.
The project was started in hopes to prevent vandalism, like tagging on utility boxes, and to add beauty downtown.
Per grant terms, the murals must be done by Nov. 21.
