Vacant East Bakersfield home catches fire Monday morning

Empty East Bakersfield home has history of fires

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - At 5:21 a.m. City and County firefighters were called to an abandoned house fire on Arnold Street in East Bakersfield.

A passerby noticed the flames and a neighbor made the emergency call that saved nearby homes.

Fire officials say the vacant home has had a history of small fires and neighbor's who spoke with 23ABC say the home had been empty for more than four years and multiple squatters have been kicked out.

The fire was reportedly knocked down in 10 minutes.
