Locals put on their running shoes and joined the Valley Fever Americas Foundation walk at the Kern County Museum this morning.
The money raised from the walk will help with vaccination research and raising awareness about the disease.
It is reported that people living in Kern County have a one to three percent chance of getting valley fever. Researchers are currently working on a trial drug.
More than 1,700 people were diagnosed with Valley Fever in Kern County. Many continue fighting against the disease.
