UPDATE (Feb. 27,2017 10:30a.m.): The Kern County Coroner has identified the victim as 43-year-old Avery Dion Molle of Bakersfield. The official cause of death is pending.
A fatal vehicle versus pedestrian accident is causing traffic on southbound Highway 99 near Olive Drive.
A person was hit by a car traveling southbound around 1:40 p.m. Friday. Initial reports indicate the pedestrian may have been hit multiple times.
Traffic is being diverted off at Norris Road.
