Video released by attorney: Residential care staff restrain disabled man after struggle

LAMONT, Calif. - Attorneys for the family of a developmentally disabled man who was killed in July released video of the incident relating to their wrongful death suit.

Adam Lynch, 27, died on July 9, 2013, due to suffocation, ruled homicide by officials.

Sheriff's deputies said he first assaulted a staff member of Mountain View Ranch Residential Care, who restrained him.

Attorneys for the family said those who were in charge of his care were the cause of his death.

In surveillance video, Lynch walks up to a staff member, punches him in the face and a struggle begins.Other staff restrain Lynch, taking him to the ground until he became unresponsive.

Even after Lynch is motionless for several minutes, staff restrain him with pressure on his head, neck and back for about 15 minutes, when deputies arrive.

Deputies perform CPR on Lynch.

Lynch was born with Fragile "X" Syndrome, family said.
