TAFT, Calif. - Los Angeles County supervisors are scheduled to vote Tuesday morning on a contract that would re-open Taft's Community Correctional Facility.

If approved, Los Angeles County would pay $75 million over five years to house 512 county inmates at the facility.

It would also include nearly a half-million dollars in start-up costs.

The prison closed last year due to prison realignment.  The new deal could provide jobs for 50 correctional officers.

The vote on the contract has been postponed three times, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff has recommended that this morning's vote be tabled until January 29th, 2013.

Taft's city council has already approved the contract.
