LAMONT, Calif. - Walmart is hoping to bring another store to Kern County.
The company is planning to build a 130,000 square foot store in Lamont.
They hope to open it within three years in a yet-to-be built shopping center on the southeast corner of Weedpatch Highway and Di Giorgio Road.
The location is currently farmland.
Before construction can start, the company needs a zoning change from Kern County which has designated the land for agricultural uses only.
