Walmart fight in Bakersfield leads to alleged house shooting

Four people were detained

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in south Bakersfield.

Deputies said multiple shots were fired at Wilson and South J Street at about noon.

They said it started as an argument between two groups of people at a nearby WalMart.

Deputies said one group followed another group to the Wilson location, when deputies said five people in a white compact began shooting.

Deputies cleared a nearby home with weapons drawn as they looked for suspects.

They detained four people but no one was arrested.

Deputies said the suspects likely fired into the air.

No one was hurt.
