BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - 'What's Happening' Kern County? Here's a compiled list of the fun events happening in Bakersfield and Kern County for the weekend of October 4 and 5.

Disney On Ice: Passport to Adventure

There are three shows full of memorable Disney characters and songs in Bakersfield Saturday. The shows are at 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. at the Rabobank Arena Downtown.

Tickets range from $18 to $48.

Halloween Town

The Kern County Museum is getting into the Halloween spirit. There are games, a rock wall and bouncy house, pedal carts, and food for everyone. The brave can go to Talladega Frights and Zombie X.

Halloween Town opens at 5 p.m. with Talladega Frights and Zombie X opening at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 per attraction or $27 for all three.

McFarland movie casting

Casting continues for an upcoming movie about the McFarland High School cross country team. They are seeking extras to cast as migrant workers and their families. They are also looking for 1950s to 1980s cars in any condition.

Auditions are at the McFarland Community Center from noon to 8 p.m. People must have a photo ID and valid Social Security number.

Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and Science

Children can learn about robotics at 10:30 a.m., presented by Stephen Mears of Bakersfield Robotics. They can learn how robotics work and what they do.

At 3 p.m., there is "Shark Tooth Hill--A Kern County Treasure." Tickets are $7 for adults, seniors and students are $5 and children are $4.

Kernville Rodeo and Roping

The mountain community of Kernville is hosting a rodeo at the John E. McNally Arena on Scodie Avenue.

Tickets for the Kernville Invitational Rodeo and Roping Event are $15.

Murray Family Farms October Fun Fest

There will be hay rides, face painting, crafts, a petting zoo and mazes. Admission ($10.99) comes with one pumpkin.

October Fun Fest begins at 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 6700 General Beale Road.

Tehachapi Junior Rodeo

The Tehachapi Mountain Rodeo Junior Association Rodeo finals is at the rodeo grounds all day until 5 p.m.

Event prices range from $5 to $20.

Kernville Rodeo and Roping

The mountain community of Kernville is hosting a rodeo at the John E. McNally Arena on Scodie Avenue starting at 9 a.m.

Tickets for the Kernville Invitational Rodeo and Roping Event are free on Sunday.

Raiders Viewing Party

Raiders Nation is welcome at Cataldo's Pizzerias on Niles. Members of the Bakersfield "Black Hole" meet there to watch games.

Kickoff is at 8:35 p.m.

Haggin Oaks Farmers' Market
 
Fresh and tasty seasonal fruits and vegetables will be available at the farmers' market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Kaiser Permanente on Ming Avenue.
