Kenny Loggins at The Fox Theater

It's time to cut loose, with the man behind the hit song 'Footloose', Kenny Loggins.

Kenny has been performing now for more than three decades of songs and movie soundtracks under his belt.

He's performing Saturday at the Fox Theater at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The Fox Theater is located at 2001 H Street in Bakersfield. Tickets for the show range from $65 to $105.

Uniquely Bakersfield Walk/Run

If you're a walker or a runner, there's still time to register for the First Annual Uniquely Bakersfield Walk and Run benefiting the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.

The event is family friendly with a stay and play area for the little ones.

There will be a 1k and 5k and a 10k.

It starts at 8 a.m. at Pioneer Village at The Kern County Museum, located at 3801 Chester Avenue. Registration is $30. Proceeds go to The Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.

Friends of Seniors Car Show

If you're looking for a car show this weekend, the Friends of Seniors Car and Bike Show is Saturday at the Bakersfield Senior Center, located at 530 Fourth Street.

The shows are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there will be food, games, entertainment and of course cars and bikes.

It's free for spectators but if you have a car you want to enter into the show, it will cost you $40.

Proceeds benefit The Bakersfield Senior Center.

NJBA Fall Nationals

From cars to boats, it's racing time out at Lake Ming as the National Jet Boat Association presents their fall nationals.

It's a day long event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. out on Lake Ming off of Alfred Harrold Highway.

Tickets are $15. Kids under 12 are free with a paying adult.

Tehachapi Fall Harvest Fair

Tehachapi kicks off its Fall Harvest Fair today.

The fair is sponsored by the Tehachapi Valley Arts Association.

The fair offers unique handcrafted gifts, fine works of art, fantastic food and more.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Railroad Park on Tehachapi Boulevard and Robinson Street.

Fiddlin' Down The Tracks

Also taking place in Tehachapi Saturday is the 'Fiddlin' Down The Tracks' fiddle contest.

If you are a fan of the fiddle, Saturday's contest is from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the West Park Auditorium, located at 410 West D Street.

There are different divisions based on age, from small fry to adult band scramble.

If this sounds like fun, it's just a short drive up the 58.

Electronic Waste Recycling Event

Looking to get rid of an old TV or computer? The Kern County Special Olympics and Alianza Recycling are teaming up and providing free electronic waste recycling Saturday.

They will be accepting all TV's, with no limit on size or quantity of computers and monitors, and all other electronic devices.

They are also accepting car and rechargeable batteries and large appliances, but will not be accepting florescent bulbs or alkaline batteries.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Greenacres Park on Calloway Drive right next to Fruitvale Junior High.

Bakersfield Comic-Con
 
For all of you who love comic books and cartoons, Bakersfield's 6th Annual Comic-Con will be held today at the Marriott Hotel, located at 801 Truxtun Avenue.
 
Some notable cartoonists will be in attendance, such as Sergio Aragones, who illustrated some episodes of the Simpsons.
 
There will also be classes where you can learn from the greats about developing your own comic book.
 
The cost is just $5 to get in for adults. Kids under eight are free. And you get two dollars off if you show up in costume.
 
Fun in the Sun Car Show
 
The Vintage Car Club is teaming up with the Kern County Museum to hold the Fun in the Sun Car Show today.
 
Classic pre-sixties cars will be on display for car enthusiasts to enjoy.
 
If you want to attend, the event will be held at the Kern County Museum, and admission is just $10.
 
If you would like to put your car on display, it's just $40 at the door.

Looking for fresh and tasty seasonal fruits and vegetables? Then check out the Haggin Oaks Farmer's Market today.

Vendors there have a selection of items including vegetables, fruit, local honey, eggs, hummus, salsa, artisan breads, and juices.

The event will be held in the parking lot of the Kaiser Permanente at 8800 Ming Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
