RUN FOR LOVE-WATER

Love-Water is hosting its inaugural "Run For Love-Water" event at Yokuts Park in Bakersfield. Race day registration and check-in is from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. The 5K and 10K begin at 8 a.m. The 1K family walk/jog are immediately after. There will be breakfast at the event, first 200 5K or 10K registrants get it for free. Race day registration for the 5K/10K is $30. The 1K is $10 per person or $30 for a family of 3 or more. Yokuts Park is located at Empire Drive in Bakersfield.

BRIDES FOR A CAUSE CHARITY WEDDING DRESS SALE

Brides For a Cause is hosting a wedding dress sale at The Patino in Bakersfield located at 425 30th Street in Bakersfield. It features over 800 dresses that are sold for as low as $150. All dresses purchased at the show will help fund Wish Upon a Wedding, a national organization that provides weddings to couples facing terminal illnesses. The event goes from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and is also on Sunday, March 23. It is free to attend.

BARKING PICNIC

The Barking Flowers of the Mountain Communities is hosting the first ever Barking Picnic at 6929 Lockwood Valley Road in Frazier Park. All well-trained pets are welcome. The event will have picnic food, pet adoptions, and pet contests starting at 2 p.m. The event is from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

In celebration of Arbor Day, the City of Bakersfield Recreation and Parks will be planting 50 trees at State Farm Sports Village located at 9001 Ashe Road at 8:30 a.m. 

NATIONAL CORN DOG DAY

You can enjoy two corn dogs for only $1 at any Wienerschnitzel location all day long to celebrate National Corn Dog Day.

IMAGINE BALLET COMPANY IMAGINE THAT! PERFORMANCE

Imagine Ballet Company is celebrating their 20th Birthday with their Imagine That! 2014 performance featuring a tribute to Buck Owens. They will have two performances, one at 2 p.m. and one at 7 p.m. at the Dore Theatre at CSUB. Tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for children, seniors and students.

SHAFTER HIGH SCHOOL RELAY FOR LIFE CLUB FUNDRAISER DINNER

The Shafter High School Relay For Life Club will hold a fundraiser dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The event is Hawaiian luau themed and is $20 per person or $160 for a table of eight. The night will include dinner, special recognition for cancer survivors, a raffle and guest speaker Bakersfield cancer survivor Rudy Hernandez.

NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION

Faith In Action Kern County is hosting an enrollment and education event as a part of National Day Of Action regarding the Affordable Care Act. They are providing opportunities for attendees to learn more about eligibility requirements, financial assistance options, and to complete healthcare applications on site. The event will be at 1111 California Avenue in Bakersfield at 2 p.m.
