TEHACHAPI - The Kern County Supervisors have eliminated an old wind energy zone on land near Tehachapi, which has angered some land owners who were looking for a profit.
According to Tehachapi News, They decided to get rid of the wind energy zoning on land near Sand Canyon, just north of Tehachapi.
Some property owners have expressed anger over the decision because they purchased the land with the intent to profit off of wind energy in the future.
But, Supervisors say the decision was made because the land lacks the existing energy transmissions lines needed to support any wind turbines.
