LAMONT, Calif. - The woman who was found dead in a car Monday has been identified as 81-year-old Imogene Victoria Brothers, officials said.
Officials say the cause of death was determined to be Hypertensive Heart Disease.
Lamont Sheriff's deputies and Kern County Fire Department personnel were sent to the area of South Union Avenue and DiGiorgio Road for a report of an unresponsive woman in a vehicle at about 7:42 p.m.
Kern County Firefighters arrived on scene and discovered a woman slumped over inside the vehicle, officials said.
After checking the condition of the woman, she was determined to be dead, officials said.
Kern County Sheriff's Office Homicide Detectives responded and conducted a suspicious death investigation.
