Officials: Indications of foul play

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Bakersfield woman was found dead in a Bakersfield softball park early Tuesday morning.

On April 23, at about 7:30 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department received a call from City Recreation and Parks workers who had found a person down near the softball diamonds at Martin Luther King Junior Park.

Officers said when they arrived, they found a dead woman, later identified as 34-year-old Stacey Ann Peebles.

There were indications of foul play and the investigation is being treated as a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled this week to determine cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information is urged to call the BPD at 327-7111.
