BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An autopsy is scheduled for a woman who was found dead on a hillside in Wofford Heights on Sunday evening.
On July 21, at about 6:15 p.m., deputies with the Kern County Sheriff's Office went to to a neighborhood in Wofford Heights regarding a possible dead body. When deputies arrived they were directed to a hillside in the 200 block of Chapo Drive.
When deputies arrived to the hillside, they confirmed there was a dead body. Detectives were then called out and an investigation began.
Due to the condition of the remains, the body has no positive identity; however, officials have deemed the body as 'Jane Doe'.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to determine the cause and manner of her death.
