Woman hit while running aross Rosedale Highway, near Buck Owens Boulevard

BAKERSFIELD, Calif - The Northbound Highway 99 off-ramp at Rosedale Highway was shut down for nearly an hour Tuesday evening after a pedestrian was hit.
According to BPD, the accident happened at 7:30 p.m. in the Eastbound Lanes in between the overpass and Buck Owens Boulevard.
Witnessed Told 23ABC News that the woman tried to run across the busy lanes of traffic during a green light. She narrowly missed a semi and several other vehicles, before being hit by an SUV. The driver immediately pulled over and called 911.
The woman was transferred to the hospital. Her name or condition has not been released.
Traffic was backed up for about a mile in both directions while police investigated the accident and crews cleaned the debris off the roadway.
. The off-ramp was reopened an hour later.
