BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Officials said a helicopter rescue successfully saved a woman stranded in her car by flooding.

On Monday, July 22, around 6:25 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a woman trapped in her SUV due to a flash flood. the Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office rescue helicopter responded to the area of Garlock Road, north of Redrock-Randsburg Road, near Ridgecrest, California.
When the helicopter arrived on scene, they located a white SUV, with the woman stranded in her vehicle. Ground rescue crews were on scene, but were unable to reach the woman.
A sheriff’s deputy was lowered from the airship, where he made contact with the woman. The woman was hoisted from her vehicle, to the awaiting ground crews., officials said.
The woman was uninjured, and did not require medical attention, officials said.
