BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A 24-year-old Bakersfield woman was found unresponsive in her cell at the infirmary at Lerdo Jail's Pretrial facility at around 1:40 p.m. on Friday.
Kern County Sheriff's jail personnel and medical staff performed CPR on Breanna Miller until fire personnel and paramedics arrived.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kern County Sheriff's homicide detectives were called to the scene and conducted an investigation.
They said there was no obvious trauma or injuries to the victim. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
