BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The public got the chance to give their input on a controversial practice today.
The California Department of Conservation held a workshop on its latest discussion draft of the state's hydraulic fracturing regulations.
The DOC said this draft is California's first attempt to specifically regulate the controversial oil production method commonly called fracking.
Fracking is the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at high pressure to fracture shale rocks to release natural gas.
The workshop was held at the Four Points Sheraton from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
