BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood has returned from his trip to Washington D.C., where he talked to feds about gun control.
Sheriff Youngblood is a member of the Major County Sheriff's Association. The association meets with the federal officials each January in D.C., and with recent events, the focus of this meeting was on gun control.
Sheriff Youngblood said California has some of the strictest gun laws in the country and so the 23 executive orders on gun control signed by President Obama won't change much here.
The Sheriff said he would not support or enforce any future proposed federal gun bans made by President Barack Obama.
Youngblood said the banning of any guns could start the country down a path to the elimination of the second amendment and that any ban would give people a false sense of security.
