Students and faculty at Fresno State University gathered on Tuesday night to remember the life of a Garces High School graduate.Hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil on campus for Philip Dhanens, 18, who died after a weekend party at the Theta Kai fraternity house. According to university officials, Dhanens was found unconscious in a room at the off-campus fraternity house early Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead on Sunday.Theta Kai members say Dhanens, who graduated from Garces in the last school year, had just started the pledging process for the fraternity. Other students who joined the memorial said it was important to come together as a community to bring about some kind of closure."He was a member of our family however briefly, we will never have the joy of having him in our family and it's important that we do honor in his memory," said Arthur Montejano, ASI president of Fresno State University. The Fresno Police Department is still waiting on autopsy results to determine how Dhanens died.
