Police Say Alcohol May Have Played Role In Crash

A motorcycle rider lost control with a passenger riding on the back on Stockdale Highway Wednesday night.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department an adult female passenger died at the scene, while a man was taken to Kern Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said 30-year-old Sean Culp and his passenger, 35-year-old Lorena Kraemer, were headed east on Stockdale Highway near Old River Road when he lost control going around a curve and hit the median.

They were wearing helmets but both likely hit a tree, according to officials.

Police said alcohol is the suspected in the crash.

Culp is still in critical condition at Kern Medical Center. Kraemer was pronounced dead at the scene.
