The groundbreaking ceremony for Kern Countys new home to NASCAR was Wednesday morning.

The new raceway will sit on 85 acres of land and will feature a half mile and quarter mile track, as well as a drag strip and 20 corporate skyboxes.

It will be located on Enos Lane, where I-5 intersects with Highway 43.

Builders hope the first green flag will drop in spring of 2008.
