President Obama will travel to Keene, Calif to establish the César E. Chávez monument

Monument to be held on La Paz property

KEENE, Calif. - President Obama will travel to Keene, California to announce the establishment of the César E. Chávez National Monument on Monday, Oct. 8.

The monument will be established on the La Paz property. 

This event is open to the public.  To register to attend go to ufw.org or chavezfoundation.org .

If you plan on traveling to Keene to watch the ceremony you must be registered.

The UFW said that registration has ended.

For those who have already registered, you must park in Tehachapi and be shuttled in. (This information will be made available on your confirmation e-mail.)

White House officials said that you may not bring in any bags, liquids, food or sharp objects.

Officials said that food and water should be made available during the event.
