BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Social media played a huge role in the 2012 Election Campaign. All of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates had a Facebook page and Twitter account, as well as their wives.

On Election Day a majority of the trending topics were regarding politics.  From names of swing states and states reporting results to 'VoteObama', 'ElectionDay2012', 'IfRomneywins', 'ivoted', 'TeamObama', and 'ImSickOf' people continued to find creative and outspoken ways to show their patriotism to followers.
