Residents Air Concerns Over Centennial Corridor Project

Decision On Highway 58 Project Years Away

People turned out Tuesday night in front of state transportation officials to try to save their homes in the face of progress.

Transportation officials want to connect Highway 58 to the future west side parkway.

One of the seven options on the table for the Centennial Corridor Project, as it is called, would involve buying and demolishing homes that are in the path of the parkway.

Officials said Tuesday night's meeting was only to inform the public about the options and hear their concerns and that a decision is still years away.

Construction on the final project isn't set to begin until 2016.
