FRESNO, Calif. -  

Two victims were found with gunshot wounds after an attempted robbery of the marijuana grow they were tending on Saturday night.

Last night, at about 8:30 p.m., deputies responded calls about gunshots in the area of the 3600 block of S State Ave, in the Alkali Flats area northeast of the City of San Joaquin.  While en route, officials said it was reported that at least one subject was shot. 

Deputies said when they arrived, they could hear shots still being fired. 

Deputies located one male subject who was shot and unresponsive.  The subject was eventually airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. 

A second male subject was also transported to CRMC for gunshot wounds.  He is reportedly in fair condition.

Detectives have learned that the two victims were shot during an attempted robbery of the marijuana grow they were tending.  The suspects fled as deputies were arriving.
