26th annual Kern County Science Fair at Rabobank Covention Center

Nearly 700 students will participate

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The 26th annual Kern County Science Fair is here, and it's going to be a big one.

Nearly 700 4th to 12th graders will participate in the Kern County Science Fair at the Rabobank Convention Center Tuesday, for a chance to win a ticket to the State Science Fair that's happening next month.

Students will be interviewed to demonstrate their understanding of their display, log book and their hypothesis.

Entries will be judged on scientific thought/engineering goals, creativity, organization, completeness, clarity and motivation.

Canadian-born biologist, adventurer and TV personality Dr. Niall McCann will provide the opening address before the judging of the project begins from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

The showcasing of the projects will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the awards ceremony will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
