GLENDALE, Calif. - Southern California firefighters are battling a new brushfire in the hills of Glendale.
The erupted north of State Route 134 near Chevy Chase Canyon and has burned close to structures.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says the blaze was reported just after 2 p.m. Friday.
There are four helicopters responding to the scene.
KABC-TV reports the Glendale Freeway, Route 2, will be closed between State Route 134 and Interstate 210 due to low visibility from smoke, causing traffic to backup.
Immediate evacuations are underway in the vicinity.
