Carjacking victim wants $1.2M for Dorner arrest

A scout camp ranger says he's entitled to the $1.2 million reward for giving information leading authorities to surround ex-LA cop Christopher Dorner before he killed himself in a Big Bear cabin.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Rick Heltebrake's claim says Dorner was surrounded soon after he called 911 to report that the shooting rampage suspect had carjacked his vehicle.
Heltebrake, a ranger at Boy Scouts-owned Camp Tahquitz, said in the Feb. 19 reward claim he immediately recognized Dorner.
On Feb. 12, Dorner ordered Heltebrake and his dog out of his truck and continued fleeing law enforcement.
Heltebrake then called sheriff's authorities to report the incident and the location of the last sighting.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck says the reward will be decided after the investigation is complete.
