Fresno man pleades guilty to firearm, postal charges

FRESNO, Calif. -  

A Fresno man pleads guilty to firearm and postal charges this morning.

Jason Alan Brewer, 31, of Fresno, pleaded guilty on Monday to being a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawfully possessing postal keys, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

According to court documents, Brewer was found by Fresno police officers on September 13, 2012, unconscious in a vehicle in front of a convenience store. After conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, officers found a handgun and stolen U.S. postal keys. Brewer had several previous felony convictions.

Brewer is scheduled to be sentenced on June 10, 2013. He faces a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
