LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health says it is investigating allegations that an adult film company violated a new law by not requiring its actors to use condoms.

The complaint was brought against Immoral Productions by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

In a statement issued late Tuesday, the Health Department says it is looking into the charges and has contacted the filmmaker. Department officials declined further comment, saying their investigation is ongoing.

Immoral Productions representatives did not respond to calls and emails.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation successfully lobbied LA County voters last year to adopt the porn-condom requirement.

The group's president, Michael Weinstein, has complained that the Health Department has been slow to enforce the measure.

Weinstein wants health officials to make spot checks on adult filmmakers.
