One man arrested and suspected of killing Fresno resident

Detectives said victim was discovered in own home

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno County Sheriff's detectives arrested one man on suspicion of murdering a 32-year-old Fresno resident, Thursday morning. 

According to Sheriff's detectives, they received a call regarding an assault at 12760 North Friant Road just before 5 a.m.The caller reported the victim appeared to have been badly beaten.

Once detectives arrived on the scene, they discovered the body of the victim, who was believed to have lived in the home. 

Detectives said they believe the victim died after sustaining severe blunt force trauma to the head. 

The suspect , Dustin Warren Baize, 33, from Tollhouse was arrested without incident but later booked into the Fresno County Jail on a single charge of murder. 

Detectives said they are still investigating the situation. 

According to detectives, a domestic related disturbance occurred a short time prior to the Sheriff’s office being called. 

Narcotics detectives were also on scene to recover approximately fifteen pounds of processed marijuana that was discovered inside the home.
