FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno County fire officials said a crop duster crashed in a field northeast of Highway 41 at Harlan Avenue around 1 p.m Tuesday.
Officials said the pilot from Blair Helicopter Services in Lemoore was spraying herbicide on a wheat field when he crashed the helicopter. Cal Fire and Fresno County sheriffs found the helicopter with the pilot still alive but was stuck inside. It took responders one hour to extricate him.
Firefighters washed down the pilot with water to make sure he was not contaminated with herbicide. The pilot was air lifted to a community regional medical center.
