SAN FRANCISCO - Ever wish you could profit from drinking? Although you can't, a California group is trying to create a bar that would allow purchases to benefit others.
A group called "United Libations" is attempting to make San Francisco the first California city to boast a "nonprofit bar," according to reports.
Founder Nishi Boppana explains the concept: "we all spend money at the bar, so let's direct that money" to charity, the Huffington Post reported.
United Libations has begun an Indiegogo.com campaign to raise funds before signing a lease and has setup a drinking/donating schedule.
They've also announced their first two charity campaigns: English classes in Haiti and a rainwater collection system in Uganda.
